Hello!

I’m Deborah Diane Turner, a native Lancashire lass now living in Birmingham (via Nottingham and London). I’ve worked in the graphic design field since around 2008: mostly working to commission and as a freelancer.

Over the last ten-plus years I’ve designed and built websites, helped out with brand identity and collateral, created editorial illustrations for magazines and artwork for paper /products, and licensed designs and patterns for textiles, product and paper.

Design practice.

I run my professional design practice from its own space: DDT Design co; which is where I offer design services and website hosting to individuals, creatives and micro-businesses.

I like to research, talk through and refine a design brief with my clients and customers before we start work. Being creatively curious, I love to play with colour palettes, put my own spin on trends, and experiment with techniques and media to find what works for each individual project. I want to make sure that the end result isn’t just meaningful and fit-for-purpose, but also stylish, exuberant and full of life and detail.

I offer a pattern and illustration licensing library through DEDITU Studio and sell limited-edition products such as illustrated silk scarves and homewares through my passion project DEDITU UK.

My latest venture, a wedding and personal stationery design-shop, Dora&Deb, was set up in late 2019.

About me.

The things that make me tick.

At heart, I’m a wanderer and a seeker: I love to travel and experience new places, finding inspiration in diverse sources such as local neighborhoods and communities, folk-art, fashion and textiles, and the natural world.

Quite honestly, I’m also a bit of a geek. I can nerd out for hours learning about new science, tech or innovations.

During my downtime, you’ll probably find me reading a book. It might be a classic piece of literature or an interesting non-fiction but, it’s more likely a trashy romance, a fantasy, or a popular thriller. I get lost in a good story, Truthfully, I get sucked into the bad ones too!

If I’m not reading, I’m probably listening to some music. I love music of almost any sort—whether that’s a bit of cheesy pop music, 80’s hip hop, some R&B or classic rock. On the bus, in a car, on the beach or in the park, and especially when I’m working – there’ll be some music happening (and possibly cheesy dancing).

My best friend and constant side-kick is my Coton de Tulear dog, Dora. She’s the best! And, oh yeah, I absolutely adore elephants!
